Biography[]
Doug Jamerson is an alien who lived on his planet until his people destroyed it and boarded the Plociff spaceship, where passengers are sent into cryosleep until they reach a new home in approximately 200 years. Rick and Morty attempt to rob their ship, but they set off multiple bombs, which alert the ship's security system as they hide within two cryo pods.
Doug and his wife, Karen, believe that Rick is their son, Jimmy Jamerson. They think he aged rapidly due to a malfunction in the cryopod. Rick goes along with it and is dressed up in a sailor suit and given a lollipop. When Morty beats up Rick after the latter forbids them from leaving the ship, he decides not to tell Karen and Doug about Morty to prevent them from discovering their true identities. Rick bonds with Karen and Doug. Thinking their son is going to die soon, they get him to do his Constellatio Celebratio ceremony event, which represents his transition to manhood. However, the Makeys start a rebellion against the Takeys during the event. Chachaco (Morty) takes Rick, Karen, and Doug at gunpoint and tries to rob the vault. Doug opens the vault for them. Morty knocks both parents out, causing Rick to yell at Morty. Thinking Chachaco (Morty) and Jimmy (Rick) robbed them. Doug and Karen stand up for Rick, saying it was Doug who opened the vault. Evidence proves otherwise. It is here that Rick is forced to reveal that he isn't the real Jimmy. Both Doug and Karen are shocked to hear that Jimmy died. It is then revealed that the bones Rick assumed were Jimmy's actually belong to a monkey. Through surveillance footage, it's revealed that Chachaco and Jimmy did rob the vault, not Rick and Morty. Karen and Doug's shock turns into anger as they decide to chase after their thief of a son.
Doug and Karen then participate in the high-speed race across Blackjack 9, which all of the other people of Plociff, Rick, and Morty participate in order to get the money stolen from Jimmy Jamerson and Guffy Chachaco. When Morty releases the money from the yacht into space, Doug and Karen attempt to retrieve it but are unsuccessful, and as a result, they are unable to pay off the debts caused by Jimmy, which makes them extremely angry at him.
When returning to the ship, Rick installs chips into everyone so they cannot insult each other or pull them out, which will fatally kill them. Doug and Karen return to their cryopods, thanking Rick for being a better son than Jimmy, and then berate the latter while being shocked by their chips.
At the end of their adventure, Rick is shown to have fond memories hanging out with Doug and Karen while riding in the Space Cruiser with Morty.
