The first episode premiered on January 30, 2005. The last episode (Episode 4) premiered on April 24, and got pulled down in June of the same year. The show is the best known series to arise from Channel 101.[1]

Plot[]

The show primarily centers around a man named Mitchell Reynolds (Jeff Davis) who lives with duplicates of his favorite comedian, Bill Cosby . He was "a true Cosby fan at heart" and searched for a fallen Cosby hair to use for the cloning process. He spent around a decade on making a cloning machine, and successfully activates it. Every clone, he found out, has different abilities, like curiousity and dancing, so he develops more clones to help him around the house. However, he regrets making the machine, as every Cosby clone that's made gets worser than the last one. So he locks the basement, which is the location of the machine. But a Cosby clone activates the machine again. Mitchell then learns that every 10th Cosby clone made is a "Super Cosby." Data Analysis Cosby (the first super-powered Cosby) then suggest that they decide to continue cloning Cosbys so that their super powers will be used only to save the world.[2]

Aftermath[]

As the sitcom premiered in the non-profit film festival Channel 101, the co-creator, Dan Harmon, quickly took a liking to Roiland's humor. But in June 2005, Bill Cosby's lawyer sent cease and desist letters to Roiland and was said to surrender all copies of the show.[3] Roiland, having the knowledge that Mr. Cosby himself is a client of Universal Studios, made a crude parody of one of their movie franchises , and thus resulted in the creation of the short that will soon become Rick and Morty.

Connection to Rick and Morty[]

Episode 4 of House of Cosbys is about Cosby 10 and Mitchell watching alien television[4], and it could be that the idea of Interdimensional Cable might be taken from this. There's also two characters from this show that appear in Rickstaversealong with Doc and Mharti.
