Rick and Morty Wiki

Listen, Morty, I hate to break it to you, but what people call ‘love’ is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed.
— Rick's negative look on humans and love.

Humans are the most abundant and widespread species of primate on earth, characterized by bipedalism and large, complex brains. This has enabled the development of advanced tools, culture, and language. Humans are highly social and tend to live in complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups. Humans are the main race appearing in Rick and Morty. They mostly reside on Earth.

Humans are the main protagonistic race of the show, but as the title of the show would denote, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith are both the show's main focus.

Biology[]

Humans are mammalian, bipedal creatures varying from 1 meter to 2 meters tall (on average measuring about 5'7). They have two eyes on the front of their face as well as a mouth, a nose, an ear on each side of the head and two arms on each side of the body.

Humans have two lungs in their ribcage and an heart in the middle and a brain in their head. below the lungs there is a liver and a stomach as well as other smaller organs, the digestive system takes most of the place.

There are many other alien species in the universe that are humanoid to varying degrees and some of them happen to look very similar to humans despite living far away from Earth; in particular Spaghetti People are virtually identical save for the fact that their insides turn to spaghetti when they commit suicide.

Society[]

Compared to any other type of living thing on Earth, and even that of some other alien species presented in the show. Humans have the most varied type of society, which branches out into countless standards of living and ideologies about the quality of life. In other words, many types of cultures, religions, social norms, languages, art, philosophies, political standpoints, economics, established nationalities are constructed.

Nearly all areas of the world have established laws, creating a code-of-conduct for all people living in a certain area to maintain order and peace. This, however, depends on the individual state or country of residence.

The morality of mankind is a very mixed bag, ranging from those with the utmost, angelic level of ethics to those that are downright evil, thinking only of their own interests or perverse pleasures. The morality of a human depends heavily on their upbringing and surrounding influences.

Technology[]

Humans have tools, low-tech weapons, vehicles, housing and electricity. They have a low understanding of the universe, but sometimes they have a spark of genius. Many other alien species in the show are shown to have a much more advanced grasp on technology, even to the point of being able to travel to other planets and galaxies, something mankind has strived to achieve for centuries, but has not yet accomplished.

This may be due to the amount of time other alien species have existed compared to humans.
