Hey Boyariffic, nice to run into you again! I'll be taking over from Charlie as the Wiki Manager of this community as well. As you know from the Big Mouth Wiki, I'm here to serve as your direct line to a full-time Fandom staff member, as well as provide support on a more local level by helping to resolve issues, assist with design updates, or come to you with some suggestions that could make this community even better to name a few examples. So if you have any questions or instances for which you would normally use Zendesk, you can now just reach out to me, and I'll do my best to provide you with an answer.
I also wanted to let you know that the UCP migrations are starting back up again. I made a more general announcement about this here, but I want to make sure that you, as the admin, are also aware that this is happening again. Since the Big Mouth Wiki has already migrated, you're perfectly placed to assess which areas on this wiki may need extra attention following the migration. Some of the tags used on the main page, such as the poll and rss tags, will not work and will thus best just be removed. I'll be around to help fix these things, but I just already wanted to alert you of the upcoming change.
If you have any questions about any of the above or anything else relating to this wiki or Fandom, just drop me a message!
The page Rick Sanchez is protected from editing. On the page it reads Murder: Outside of all of the hostile aliens he's killed, Rick has killed multiple innocent beings too. In the episode Meeseeks and Destroy, he blasted King Jellybean with a laser gun
King Jellybean was a "hostile alien", and certainly not an "innocent being".
Was there a lot of vandalism on this wikia? Is that why some articles were protected?
check out the page I made for rick and morty funko products, I have been collecting funko pops/products and rick and morty merchandise as well so I used that in creating and filling out the page, but im not really familiar yet with the page editing so it doesnt really look that good, it would be nice if we have like a page for merchandise(s) and just link the page I created
It might have been listed in the episode's credits.
The names of all the Alphabetrians were likely based off of their appearances, and the naming scheme of Ice-T's name. For example, if there was an letter K made out of Titanium, it'd be called Titanium K.
All the Alphabetrians on this wikia had their name actually mentioned by other characters. However, Ice-T's father was simply called "father" and was NEVER called Magma-Q or mentioned by this name EVER.
And since I cannot trace this name to any other source and since you were the one who created his page, I am here to ask you, where did you get that name from?
Oh, but you don't know he's made out of magma. All you know is that it's some kind of orange stuff. Therefore, this name is fanon and cannot be considered part of Rick and Morty canon. And since it seems this wikia only contains Rick and Morty canon informations, I would suggest removing this piece of fan-made information.
But you can't name him something. You're just adding something entirely fanon to the show! This wikia is about canon info about Rick and Morty, isn't it? His name could be anything, Fire Q, Molten Q, Plasma Q, Barbe Q, but that's not for you to decide. If you want a placeholder, let's just call him Ice-T's Father to avoid confusing people. Or just putting up a disclaimer that it isn't his real name. Just something so that people know this is not his real name. I've seen at least 10 articles calling him Magma Q because you made that name up and they think it's real canon part of the show!
A disclaimer sounds like a great idea. An "Articles with Conjectural Titles" category comes to mind.
Anyway, just naming a random one-time character something "fanon" isn't going to completely mess up the canon of the Rick and Morty series. It's not like we're adding in a false episode where Morty and Jessica get married and we introduce some random Mary Sue to the main cast, so why should be fret about it?
Yes, of course, I didn't mean to exaggerate it like that. Sorry for that.
I was just alarmed that everyone suddenly started calling him Magma-Q, when it really wasn't his name. People on reddit and several articles, even Wikipedia called him Magma-Q. And the origin of all this was your wiki page. It isn't a catastrophy, just sayin', people got quite misinformed because of it.
The Discussions area is getting some steady activity from both web and mobile app users. But I noticed that there is not much moderation happening. There are not any big problems, but a few posts and replies have been reported and no action has been taken.
Yazzy had done some moderating in the past.
I wonder if you would be interested in having our global Discussions moderators help out for a little while. They would assess the users and the content in Discussions, and ideally find people from Discussions or interested wiki editors to become moderators for the long term. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
I'm busy with many other wikis, let alone the main content of this one, so unfortunately, I have no room for chat moderating. So, I say this wiki should go with having global discussion moderators helping out with that. :)
