Jerry Smith, of the Five o'clock Shadow Dimension, also known as Mooch Jerry or simply Mooch, was a Jerry who travelled through different dimensions via cracks in the multiverse.
Biography[]
Jerry Smith used to live with his family in the Five o'clock Shadow Dimension, but began to felt unappreciated by them. After discovering he could travel through dimensions via cracks in the multiverse, he left his family and began a life of "hitchhiking" through other dimensions. His wife Beth subsequently re-married in his absence and Paul Fleishman became her new husband.
During his travels, Mooch Jerry eventually encountered Jerry Smith of Dimension 5126 in the Parmesan Dimension. Mooch Jerry was impersonating Jerry 5126 to eat his food during a quick stop. Mooch Jerry was basically ignored by the Smith family before Jerry 5216 noticed and tackled him and demanded to know who he was. Mooch Jerry explained his origins and how he travelled the multiverse and offered to show Jerry 5216. The two ended up travelling through multiple dimensions together, until they missed a portal created by a version of Rick Sanchez, leaving them stranded. Mooch Jerry was forced to take them to Grand Central to meet with Boss Jerry, who would be able to send them through a line of portals back to the Parmesan Dimension.
Unfortunately, the meeting went sour when Jerry 5126 discovered Mooch Jerry steals from his multiversal counterparts in order to pay Boss Jerry for his services, causing the latter to blacklist the two of them from travelling. Now stuck in his home universe, Mooch Jerry was forced to confront his estranged family after Jerry 5126 discovered the true nature of his multiversal travels. Despite some tension, he was able to mend his relationship with his family and had his Rick Sanchez guide the two back to Grand Central. The two returned, but were pursued by Boss Jerry and his Bandana Jerry guards. The chase ended in a burlap sack portal, where Boss Jerry attempted to kill them. At the last second, Mooch Jerry cut the line, causing the portal to tear and collapse in on itself, seemingly killing Boss Jerry. Mooch Jerry and Jerry 5126 finally made it back to the Parmesan Dimension, where the two parted ways with the former planning to help the other Jerrys at Grand Central get back to their home dimensions.
Personality[]
Mooch Jerry was introduced as a cool-headed and confident man, a far cry from the main Jerry Smith. His travels through the multiverse made him much more daring and courageous. He took the lead guiding Jerry Smith, of Dimension 5126, through various dimensions and demonstrated insightful knowledge of how to blend in and enjoy themselves during their travels. He also appeared hardened by his experiences; whilst Jerry 5216 was horrified at the sight of a Smith Family who had frozen to death, Mooch Jerry showed how he and other travelling Jerrys keep the family's memory alive by leaving trinkets in their honor.
However, Mooch Jerry was later shown to have deep insecurities just like Jerry 5126. It turns out he had left his original dimension and begun his travels because he didn't feel appreciated by his family and couldn't bear to face them again after finding out Beth re-married in Jerry's absence. He wrongfully assumed that since they seemed happy without him, they hated him by proxy. Thanks to Jerry 5126 forcing Mooch Jerry to face his family, he seems to have repaired his relationship with them, allowing him to resume his travels without the emotional burden.
Appearance[]
Mooch Jerry shared the same appearance as the series' main Jerry Smith and most other Jerrys, sharing the same dull brown hair, oval-shaped head, pointed nose and an outfit consisting of a green shirt with two brown stripes going across the chest. Mooch Jerry is distinguished by his unshaven look, as he has notable five o' clock shadow, and also wears a watch on his left wrist.
