Trivia[]
- The eyeball and the "3+3=6" going across the screen is a reference to the opening of The Twilight Zone and the telephone booth in the opening of Doctor Who.
- In the episode "Total Rickall", the opening sequence was edited with Mr. Poopybutthole in all of the scenes.
- In the episode "Full Meta Jackrick", the opening sequence was edited with Rick and Morty hanging onto Previous Leon and flying through all of the scenes, which also now have sound effects playing alongside the theme.
- The opening sequence does not play in the episodes "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate", "The Ricklantis Mixup", "Rickmurai Jack" and "Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie". It initially did not play in the sneak peek airing of "The Rickshank Rickdemption", but was seen when the third season officially premiered.
- The episodes "Never Ricking Morty", "Ricktional Mortpoon's Rickmas Mortcation", "Unmortricken" and "Summer of All Fears" only show the title screen although the latter two feature cold opens.
- The episode "The Vat of Acid Episode" displays the episode title during the title screen.
- The website 'RubHub' is a reference to the popular pornography website, PornHub. The name, however, is a reference to the popular food site and app, Grubhub.
- Starting with Season 7, the "created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon" byline on the title screen has been removed, likely to distance the series from Roiland and downplay his involvement due to his termination. The byline has been moved to the very end of the closing credits, before the post-credit scene of the episode starts.
