Salvatron

Salvatron is a robot shaped like a tower that Rick built to sort out his garbage within the Trash Dimension and detects the value of garbage and other robots via the use of small drones. It is the main antagonist of the episode, "Morty Daddy".

Biography[]

Salvatron first appears in "Morty Daddy" where Morty and Morty Jr. enter the Trash Moon dimension via Rick's Garage to find Gwendolyn and the former introduces it as a drone that detects the value of the garbage sent into the dimension and reports it to Rick. Salvatron then scans Morty and Morty Jr. and detects their value. However, since what Rick declares as valuable changes often and has impossible standards, it tries to kill Morty and Morty Jr. through their belief that Rick threw them away as they escape into a trash hole underground.

It is thens seen when the Trash of the Trash tries to use Morty's DNA on a security panel in order for them to escape, but when doing so, a voice recording of Rick suspects the scenario and summons Salvatron to kill the Trash of the Trash as Morty hides and falls into another trash hole. When searching for Morty and Morty Jr., they become distracted by the corpse of Gwendolyn as Morty Jr. and the residents of Garbtopia destroy their drones. They all decide to team up together and take down and kill Salvatron and its drones so that the robots of the Trash Moon dimension can live peacefully.

The design of the Salvatron drones resembles Claptrap from the Borderlands video game series.
