Season 8 is an upcoming season of Rick and Morty. It is set to premiere on Adult Swim on May 25th 2025 and end on July 27.[1]
This season contains 10 episodes, similar to previous seasons.
Production[]
On May 16, 2022, writer Rob Schrab tweeted that writing for Season 8 has begun.[2]
On June 14, 2023, Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen and executive producer Steve Levy revealed that Season 8 has been fully written.[3]
On January 22, 2024, it was reported that Season 8 would premiere in 2025.[4]
On October 17, 2024, Adult Swim uploaded a sneak peek animatic of the episode "Cryo Mort a Rickver" on its YouTube channel which was also shown at the Rick and Morty Season 8 panel at New York Comic Con.
On December 11, 2024, Adult Swim released a promo for the season called "Season 8 Jerry Auditions" on its YouTube channel, confirming that the season is still set to premiere in 2025.
On March 6, 2025, the official Rick and Morty social media accounts posted various character and background art featured in Season 8. [5]
On April 1st, 2025, Adult Swim released a teaser for the episode "The Last Temptation of Jerry", along with announcing the season will release on May 25th as apart of their April Fools' Day stunt. It was also announced that the season will stream on Max and Hulu on September 1st.
On April 8, they released another clip of the same episode.
On April 10, Adult Swim announced the titles of the episodes within the season.
On April 22, Adult Swim released the trailer for Season 8 on their YouTube channel.
On May 5, the official Rick and Morty website was updated in celebration of Season 8.
On May 8, Adult Swim posted the opening titles sequence for the season on their YouTube channel.
On May 15, Adult Swim released the second trailer for Season 8 on their YouTube channel.
