Vindicators 2, also known as Rick and Morty: Vindicators 2, and Vindicators 2: Last Stand Between Earth and Doom, is an animated short-form spin-off web miniseries of Rick and Morty produced by Atomic Cartoons. The series was created by Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe. It premiered on July 23, 2022 on Adult Swim's YouTube channel.[1]
Premise[]
In this prequel to Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender, follow the adventures of your old pals Supernova, Vance Maximus, Alan Rails, Million Ants, Crocubot and Noob Noob and their comrades Lady Katana, Diablo Verde and Calypso (RIP) and learn the truth behind the team's epic battle with Doomnomitron.
Development[]
On May 19, 2021, it was announced that Adult Swim had commissioned a spin-off shortform series for streaming following the adventures of the Vindicators. It was expected to span from eight to ten episodes, and will be executive produced by Erica Rosbe, Sarah Carbiener, Dan Harmon, and Justin Roiland.[2]
On June 27, 2022, it was announced that a first look of the series will be shown off at San Diego Comic Con 2022.[3]
On July 19, 2022, it was announced that the series will premiere July 23, 2022 on Adult Swim's YouTube channel.[4]
